Catalog Description
Prepares students for initiating and/or maintaining common intravenous therapies (IV). Nursing assessments and special patient care are included. Although focused on the hospitalized patient, knowledge can easily be transferred to the home care setting. Covers insertion techniques, administration of TPN, blood and blood products, piggybacks, intermittent infusion sets, and common I.V. drugs.
