Professor Dorhout has been an adjunct faculty member in the History Department at Saddleback College since 2006.

Her history classes focus on historical questions or problems. Students "do" history by analyzing primary source documents, and using their critical thinking skills in group discussions.  In this way, history comes to life, and connections can be made to current issues.

Her other interests include volunteering as a Master Gardener in the community, as well as running the school garden at an elementary school. She also teaches a writing class for children.
