Professor Brewer joined Saddleback's social science faculty in l974 as the first full-time female instructor.  In addition to teaching archaeology, cultural and biological anthropology, she also served as Department Chair for four years. 

She loves anthropology and has acquired a great variety of field experience, which she is eager to share with her students:  Digging in Orange County, Kenya or Swaziland, taking students to visit Native Americans in the Southwest, visiting Gorillas in Uganda, doing research on Orangutans in Indonesia and the Baboons of Ethiopia - she has done it.  Not even the oldest mummies in the Atacama Desert of Chile escaped her curiosity.
