Deborah Freemel joined Saddleback College in August, 2004 as an adjunct faculty member. Her current teaching assignments include: Introduction to Sociology; Sociology of Marriage and Family; Socialization of the Child; and Social Stratification.

Prior to joining Saddleback College, Deborah was an instructor at Mira Costa College and worked extensively in the community for many years as a social gerontologist.

In her spare time, Deborah volunteers for the American Red Cross in disaster services and is a First Aid/CPR and Disaster Services instructor. Deborah is also a volunteer Girl Scout adult education trainer. She enjoys curling up on the couch with a good book; walking with her lovable Akita; and visiting her two daughters and son-in-law. Now Deborah is teaching exclusively online, she plans to spend time in Anchorage, Alaska (after the winter cold!) where her husband of 34 years is currently working.
