Johe originally graduated from Florida State University with a BSN in
1971. She later earned a MN at UCLA and a EdD from Nova Southeastern
University. She has been practicing nursing since graduation from FSU
and served in the US Navy Nurse Corps during the Vietnam era.
Although
she has practiced nursing in all of the medical surgical areas, in ICU
/ CCU, the emergency department, and in behavioral health, in recent years she has served the nursing program as the Skills Lab Coordinator and principle teacher for advanced placement students. She has been
teaching in Associate degree nursing education since 1980 and
came to Saddleback College in 1987.
She has a passion for the practice of mindfulness meditation and yoga. She is honored to
share these traditions with her students to help them build focus,
concentration, compassion, and the ability to serve others while
maintaining equanimity and personal integrity.
