Prior to beginning his work at Saddleback College in 2007, Professor Engels worked in the CSU system and in a K-12 district for several years. Over the years, he has developed an unrelenting passion for helping all students succeed and reach their educational and vocational endeavors.
Professor Engels graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development from California State University San Marcos. He has a strong educational background in issues of depression, eating disorders and addictions, and he is familiar with the implications and potential setbacks such disorders can cause. He is not only committed and determined to advocate for students facing such setbacks but he is also believes every student, if given the proper guidance, can find a path to their own personal success.
Professor Engels enjoys teaching Applied Psychology courses, counseling students, and working with others to help all students succeed.
