Education/Background
Omar started his education in Brazil, where he concurrently earned his B.A. in Physical Education and his certification in martial arts. Since graduation, he began teaching both, regular and special education students at high school and college levels. Over several years, he had the opportunity to coach varsity swim, soccer and tennis teams, as well as teach martial arts to hundreds of students.
In 2003, Omar moved to California for his next milestone to work on his graduate studies in Educational Psychology. Currently, Omar is furthering his education while attending the Adapted Kinesiology graduate program at Cal Poly Pomona.
Hobbies/Interests
Since 2005, Omar has been a significant supporter to the Adapted Kinesiology Program, while being instrumental in building a thriving Special Olympics aquatics program. Furthermore, for the last two years, Omar has been the assistant swim coach at Saddleback College. Omar's teaching passions also include soccer, tennis, and martial arts.
