My journey as a sociology instructor has been guided by my passion for the discipline and started long before I set foot in the classroom to teach. My teaching philosophy has been influenced by my academic training and life experiences. Students are encouraged to see themselves in society through different lenses that also includes the examination of cultural diversity. By facilitating empowerment and critical thought, students can become proactive in their own personal lives and communities. It is my hope that students after studying sociology, have a deeper understanding of themselves and their role in making our society a better world.
