Kennedy is an applied anthropologist working mainly in the areas of tribal federal acknowledgment, education, and diversity training. She has a M.A. in Applied Anthropology from California State University, Long Beach (2004), and a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton (1995). Her research experience includes: the federal acknowledgment case of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians of Montana; research and evaluation of LA's BEST After School Enrichment Program (LAUSD); CDE statewide evaluation of after school programs with UCLA's National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST); and the evaluation and implementation of diversity training programs for children and adults.
