It is my pleasure to teach Psychology at Saddleback Community College.

I balance a part time teaching career with my home life raising two amazing boys with my wonderful husband.  We vacation in places where we can camp, hike, backpack, float or otherwise commune with nature.  I spend a lot of time picking up and dropping my boys off at school, sports or friends houses.  We swim, play video games, listen to music, watch movies and play outside.  I spend way too much time playing World of Warcraft, drinking copious amounts of coffee and reading the newspaper.  I love martial arts, watching MMA and reading science fiction.

I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from UCI and then my masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.  I have worked in a psychiatric hospital as a Partial Hospitalization Counselor, an Assessment and Referrals Counselor and a Case Manager.  I taught Parent Education courses for Olivecrest Treatment Centers to parents in the County Social Services system trying to regain custody of their children.  I have been teaching psychology courses in local community colleges for 2 years, and this is by far my favorite job!

I love teaching!  My students inspire me to be better every semester, and my strength lies in course design.  Instead of midterms, I give chapter quizzes and a cumulative final at the end of the course.  I tend to be a good fit with students who are not traditional learners by building visual elements into my slides and giving lecture outlines for taking notes.

Take care, and I hope to see you in class!
